Indocan Capital
The management and associates at Indocan Capital are comprised of capital markets professionals with experience in investment and merchant banking, equity research, private equity, risk management and securities law. The group has covered an array of sectors including technology, media, telecom, healthcare, biotech, real estate, alternative energy, manufacturing, diversifieds, hotel and leisure. Indocan provides expert services regarding sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions, recapitalizations, fairness opinions, take-private transactions, private placements of debt and equity, and general financial advisory services for small and medium sized high growth companies in Canada and India. Principals
Rahim Allani, MBA: Rahim has been involved in international capital markets since 1999, spending time with firms such as Scotiabank, CIBC World Markets and more recently with a Canadian based investment bank. To date, Rahim has worked in several groups across these firms including corporate banking, investment banking risk, equity research, bond underwriting and private client investments. In his capacities he has covered sectors which include technology, media, telecom, European diversified and real estate. Rahim has an MBA specializing in Finance from McMaster University, as well as an Honours BA from the University of Toronto specializing in Economics and Political Science.



Anish Joshi, MSc, MBA: Prior to co-founding Indocan, Anish was Senior Healthcare Banker at Blackmont Capital. During his four-year tenure at Blackmont, Anish participated in equity research and investment banking functions with a focus on the Canadian biotech space. Prior to Blackmont, Anish had roles as a risk analyst at TD Securities and research analyst at Roche Pharmaceuticals. Anish has an MBA specializing in Strategic Valuation from McMaster University and an MSc in Neuroscience from the University of Western Ontario. He received his BSc in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1998.

Paul Bates (CMA): Currently serving his second term as Dean at the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. Mr. Bates recently completed a second edition of his best-selling book, Sales Force Management in the Financial Services. Previously, he has held senior positions in the financial services sectors with established firms and as an entrepreneur including: CEO of Charles Schwab Canada; founded Porthmeor Securities Inc., and Priority Brokerage; President TD Green Line; President, Marathon Securities.

Kunal Bajaj: Kunal Bajaj is a Director in Accenture’s Communications and High-Technology (C&HT) Practice in India and leads the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) stream. He is currently based out of New Delhi. He has been with Accenture for over 9 years and has consulting experience with clients in Communications, High-Tech, A&D and Utilities in India, North America and Australia. Across these clients, he has executed projects related to Business Development, Project Management, Business Process Mapping, Customer Relationship Management, System Integration, and Change Management.
Kunal has a Bachelor of Applied Science and Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Information Systems from the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada.
